Akiko Uchida
Quietly Expressive
Akiko Uchida, born in Japan, spent most of her ceramic career working in New York City. Her work can be characteristically light, precise and delicate, while at the same time; internal, personal and contemplative. Akiko is known for her exquisite functional thrown pottery as well as her sculptural hand built ceramic artwork which invites us into her delicate interior monologue.
My ultimate goal as artist is to have a dialogue with the people who appreciate my work, and to create an emotional experience. I would be delighted if my art could shed light on a different perception in their minds, and enrich their lives.
