Landscape
Landscape
Highlighting the ceramic art of Scott Bartolomei Edmonds, this exhibition is focused on the comparisons between textures, shapes, colors and patterns of the art and the topology, ecology, and geology of the natural world. Time, pressure, water, evaporation and heat provide both the natural landscape, and the art, with their dramatic form, producing related, but different results.
The work plays with scale, at once being human scale and reminding us of very large scale geologic time and space. Scott is acutely aware of these contrasts and encourages the viewer to glimpse, in the intimacy of a plate, a vase, or a bowl, our landscape at immense scale.
